We’re planning to spend 6 days based in Lisbon, with a couple of excursions (Sintra and Obidos). For those who have been…would an overnight in Sintra be worthwhile or is a day-trip enough?

If you have a time I think an overnight in Sintra would be great. We regret not spending more time there.

You convinced me. Booked an overnight there. H really wants to do a cycling day through Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, so having an overnight will allow us a day to tour around various sites on foot and then take a day to bike out to Cabo da Roca. Just hope the weather cooperates (I think March can be iffy).

I’m in England and there is a heat wave! It was almost too hot climbing Cat Bells yesterday. (On Derwentwater in the Lake District.) It’s the left peak in the first photo.

This thread of mine popped back up! We finalized our spring trip with our friends. I am not home so cannot see our itinerary, but from memory it includes Lisbon, Sintra, avieros, Coimbra, Porto, Amarante and my flashback to my youth —- the Mateus castle!

heading to portugal also this spring. taking the train and upgrading above tourist to 1st class has been the most frequent recommendation with minimal $ increase
