Alternate testing

Ok so I took an alternate test. I received a 2. After I took it, I was pretty confident I made at least a 4. So is this because of the curve, or do I need to get a rescore?

If you’re feel that confident, then maybe you should consider a rescore.
I think they’re supposed to make it fair so alternate testing should have a same (or about the same) curve.
CB makes mistakes once in a while, but not that a lot.
So before you get a rescore, try to measure your confidence again. Look over the FRQs (if it does available for alternate testing), what should have been the correct answers? What did you put down?
What percent did you think you get right on MCs?
But I’m pretty sure you’re already consider those mentioned.

Based on what I read from other rescoring threads. Reasons for wrong score usually are:
1/ MC was misgraded by the machine. So this can be easily fixed by rescoring. CB only rescore the MC section, which they do by hand.
2/ CB forgot to add FRQs points (though this is rare). I forgot how you fix this. So you have to do a little research and ask CB.

Well if the curve is approximately the same, I highly doubt I made a 2, so I will go for the rescore

The curve should be about the same as past years and the regular test. It may deviate by a few points, but I don’t think a whole new curve is made with the alternate testers.

Thanks, I just wasn’t sure since the alternate testers are usually smarter

I must make a slight correction. It is not that they have the same curve (cutoffs). Instead it is that it should be you’d get the same result (1-5) no matter which test you took.

Also there are probably shared questions between the tests to calibrate them.

Well now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks…
