Heard this is a really good program for finance students. I know only 25 get in, but is it really challenging to gain acceptance? (aka maintain a 4.0, have amazing, teacher recs). Also how good is the job placement from this program?

You’re talking about the top finance class in one of the nation’s top business schools. So the straight up answer is yes, it is difficult and challenging. First, keep in mind that Cox is a highly ranked business school. All the classes you take leading up to that application period are going to be challenging and will push your student. Second, not only is the class the top 20-25 students, but it’s also split between male and female applicants. You are required to apply for the class, participate in the interview process, and recs from current students in the program are always a plus. As a result of the progam’s selectivity, the job placement is extremely solid. It’s not uncommon to see students come out of the program with six figure offers (and a 90-100 hour work week). It’s a great program for those students who desire to enter the investment banking world. However, this industry is very demanding and isn’t for everyone.

Thank you!! Do you by chance know how many students apply to this program if only 25 are accepted?

Roughly 70 apply.
