<p>So an alum called me today and said Brown wants an interview, blah, blah, blah. But then she said that I would have to go to the Latin School downtown for one of three dates for this “group” interview. If I couldn’t make it for one of those three dates, then maybe they could schedule an individual interview.</p>
<p>What is this??? Are there any people from Chicago out there who went through a similar experience???</p>
<p>Hrm. Never heard of Brown doing this but I believe the alumni network has a lot of autonomy in arranging these however they want. Group interviews like that are extremely common for some things like medical school.</p>
<p>Ok, nvm…I had to call the lady back with a few questions and she explained it in more detail. I guess the Brown alumni of Chicago rent out the school on saturdays and then take students up to classrooms where they DO get an individual interview. Whew!</p>
<p>I’ve never paid much attention to the discussions of these interviews, because we haven’t had to use this process where I live, but this type of mass interview is encouraged in areas where there are a large number of students who need to be interviewed.</p>
<p>Given the number of applicants this year, I imagine there are a lot of these being set up, not just in Chicago.</p>
<p>i had an interview in chicago at the latin school and there are a bunch of applicants that sit in a main room and then get called into individual rooms for 1 on 1 interviews. they were very nice, interesting and relaxed.</p>
