I won ADS (admittedly cried some happy tears when I got the call) but I’m not yet sure if I’ll accept it - it mostly depends on if I get into Princeton or Harvard because of my long-standing Ivy dreams. I also applied for a couple other large scholarships but I have a feeling those won’t work out. I was also awarded the Professorial Assistantship, so it’s pretty appealing to be making money off of my undergraduate career.
@m24sweet I’m also an (astro)physics major considering MSU for next year (and a National Merit scholar.) My impression (from the physics faculty and my friends who’ve gone there) is that MSU undergrad phys is amazing if your focus is on research (esp. if nuclear phys interests you). It’s a tough choice to make though, and I wish your son luck…and maybe I’ll see him next year in East Lansing
