Son received a decision today, OOS with President and Study Abroad scholarship, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major.
1410, 3.98 GPA, state-level musician, AP Scholar with Distinction
He’s pretty excited. This is one of his top choice schools, and the merit aid is helpful with a sibling already at a private university.
Any in-state kids get an acceptance yet? Would love to hear the stats! My son applied back in September and is anxiously waiting!
My son received his acceptance last week along with the President scholarship (the 15k per year one). Very quick turnaround-he got the decision a week after he applied.
He is OOS, biology major, 35 ACT, 4.0 UW.
My son is in-state and was accepted last week. He’s engineering. No scholarship money awarded yet.
Any In-state acceptances receive merit aid? How much? Stats please!
Posting to serve as a marker for future high-achieving applicants to keep track of their anticipated timeline for hearing about Honors and ADS notifications.
Do keep in mind that this is just one applicant’s experience. The following is the timeline for my DS for the Fall 26 application cycle thus far:
Applied as OOS: 08/01
Admitted, with OOS Presidential scholarship: 10/15
Honors college acceptance, with scholarship: 10/30
ADS advance notification: 10/30
(Honors college letter indicates that Admissions will invite DS in December for ADS competition to be held in January or February, 2026).
MSU considers DS to belong to the high-achieving category. He also submitted a very high standardized test score with the application.
Congrats. My OOS son applied end of September and just heard about admission w/ Presidential scholarship this week. He’s waiting on University of Michigan however.
