Alumni Letters

I’m just wondering how much of an impact alumni letters have on someone’s applications, because I know how NYU doesn’t like unnessecary documents when reviewing their applicants.

I don’t think they mind about ‘unnecessary’ documents. (Stanford hates additional documents, Harvard loves them) On the admissions forums the admin even says that you can write a letter of continued interest to the admissions office if you want, and it wouldn’t likely help or hurt the decision. I say go for it.

Hi - what exactly is a letter of continued interest? Just curious.

Like if you apply in January, and in March you write a letter telling them you are still interested in NYU. (And maybe what you hope to acomplish etc.) Waitlisted applicants can do it too.

Okay, that sounds good to me, thanks!
