<p>I am a girl attending a very intense school in the West Coast. A lot of my friends at school are applying to A LOT of colleges (like 20).
I have a 3.8 GPA unweighted, and took 6 APs (including this year). My main ec is a program I developed which allows students to make their own mock businesses, as well as work with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs around here; it won state and national awards. I was/am also president of a club promoting leadership development and internships as well as a club that focused extensively on presenting topics about computers and technology! It’s pretty cool!
I am focusing on majoring in engineering and business in college and I am applying to these schools

My essays are pretty good and my recs, I think, are stellar. I am hoping to be confident about this entire college application process, but it’s pretty hard.</p>

You are aware that many of these schools do not have undergraduate business programs, correct?</p>

<p>I have a 2340 SAT Score, plus I am a National Merit Semifinalist. My Sat Scores are pretty low (high 600s, low 700s)</p>
<p>Given your test scores, your selection is fine. Which schools are you applying in engineering and which schools in Business (Wharton?).</p>
<p>I don’t think I was too clear. I was intending to pursue business for graduate studies, engineering for undergrad.</p>
<p>In that case, your list looks like a reasonable mix of lottery schools, matches and safeties.<br>
I will note that many of the other parents on CC also remind you that you need a financial safety as well, unless your parents are willing to fork out $55k per year.</p>

<p>But it does look like you have some less selective schools in your list; presumably, at least one of them is a safety that will admit you, you can easily afford, and you would be happy to attend, right?</p>
<p>Once you have solid safeties, you can add as many or as few other schools to your application list as you want. Of course, there is no point in applying to any school you like less than your solid safeties.</p>

I am applying to the Jerome Fisher Program in UPenn, which combines both a science degree from UPenn SEAS and Wharton, but that’s pretty competitive. The rest of my colleges, I plan to major in engineering, which is immensely cool.</p>
<p>What is your class rank? Was your schedule the most rigorous possible at your school? Where are you from? Do you have family relations in venture capital?</p>

<p>If you’re absolutely OK with attending San Jose or Santa Clara then your school list is fine. If you’re not OK with that then you need a safety you like and can afford.</p>
