Am I basically guaranteed acceptance into NYU?

My SAT scores were around the same, my GPA was a little higher, I took 3 AP classes my senior year and one my junior year but no honors classes in high school. I’m a white female living in NY and I work part time at a local day care and never took any NYU class before. I was however, very involved in after school activities throughout high school.

I was not admitted into NYU’s CAS, but I was given a spot in NYU’s Liberal Studies Program. This is something NYU tends to not mention because you cannot apply directly to it, its a program for students who don’t quite meet NYU’s high standards but are still considered good students and a good “match” with NYU. Aim for CAS, but look into LSP too, because it is a good option, and I ended up choosing it over some other very good schools. I picked my classes for the fall and other than having to take 3 required classes, there really is very little difference in CAS and LSP, at least at this point in the game.

Good luck!

CAS is second hardest to get into numbers wise. With broader measures of selectivity, though, it’s probably tied for 3rd with Gallatin (Tisch is very selective, but doesn’t give significant weight to grades/scores)

OP: Precollege in no way guarantees you acceptance to a university. Most good schools have some sort of pre college program.

bumppppppppppp
