Am I being a total shmarfnoid?

No, this thread will not discuss what a smarfnoid is.

I’m going to a california community college, and I’ve got a 4.0, IGETC and all that completed by Spring. The question is, however, I want to go to Berkeley or UCLA (obviously) but right now I’m leaning towards a psychology major. The problem is that this major is super competitive, and I could easily just be an Anthropology major if need be. (wayyy easier to get into)

I plan to go to law school after my undergrad, so I really don’t care too terribly what exactly I major in. Should I still risk the psychology major for Berkeley and risk not getting in? Or take the Anthropology major and be basically assured of my acceptance?

Thanks for any advice

p.s. I’ll have the pre req’s completed for both majors by spring

if you have a 4.0 your chances of getting rejected from one or the other are extreemly unlikely and your chances of getting rejected from both are microscopic. That said, both UCLA and Berkeley are top notch schools that will enhance any law school application. It sounds like you’re really interested in psychology and that anthro is a fallback of sorts. I’d say, just go with what you’re interested in.

No need to play it safe with that kind of GPA.

I say go for Psychology at Cal -IF- you have all the prerequisites finished up by the end of spring.
The few majors that even a person with a 4.0 should possibly worry about are Communications at UCLA or getting into HAAS at Cal etc.

Good luck!

I feel better now  thanks!

wut’s a shmarfnoid?
