Am I being really stupid?

Lindy apologized to you for making that leap. Be a mature person and accept the apology that was given before your rant.

@2016Candles HAHAHA, Don’t be so combative! I was addressing this point: “we really don’t know ultimately who these ppl are we are talking with.”

I have no hard feelings towards her! Just as a side note, you’ll catch more flies with honey than vinegar

I’m not trying to catch flies. They’re gross.

You call someone dumb, and then call ME combative? Oh ok. That makes sense. Have a great night. Good luck chasing a girl/ guy who’s clearly uninterested.

I realize I was harsh Rusty, and obviously the odds of your being a demented looney tunes is unlikely, but you must admit on a smaller scale, deciding to possibly forego an acceptance to UCSB, wait out a year and hope there is the slim chance of getting into UCB so you can get up the nerve to maybe ask a girl on a date, who, from what I have gathered, has never shown any interest in you - is a bit extreme. The better way is to continue at UCSB, correspond via Skype, maybe visit on some weekends and holidays. To give all that up for a pipe dream is a bit extreme is really what I meant to say. I wish you the best of luck, however.

And @2016Candles‌ was certainly not being combative.

If I remember correctly CollegeDropout had the same issue and he decided on UCSD instead of UCLA because of one girl. He is also CS major and decide to follow his CS major. You two have something in common, maybe he can give you some advice on how he ended up deciding.
UCSB has a small engineering department so I think that is a plus.
