I have a SAT score of 1510, ranked 65th percent and have a 2.95 GPA. But I am have 7 AP classes on my belt (1 full year ap in and 1 semester ap in junior and 2 full year aps and 3 semester aps this senior year).
I have a 3 on my apush ap exam as well.
With saying all this am I doomed from getting into a real college like Texas a&m and an UT school because after seeing my gpa/class rank today my heart hurts out of my stupidity.
(I also had to repeat a grade but I don’t believe that hurts my college chances does it?)
Your best advice will come from your HS guid counselor. He/She can advise you on assembling a realistic target list of colleges. You should definitely plan to re-take your SAT or even try the ACT. Good luck to you
UTSA is in a cool city and is a match for you academically. You also have UT Tyler.
St Edward’s, an excellent college in Austin, would be a reach but you have a shot if you write excellent essays and improve that SAT a bit.
Texas State is a solid match. Stephen Austin State and Prairie View A&M are both safeties.
