My parents were not born in America, but they attended trade/vocational school and I believe they obtained degrees.
My father went to a place called West Valley Occupational Center and my mother has a nursing degree from Casa Loma College.

General about first gen designation:

It doesn’t matter where your parents were born or where they attended college.

Whether or not vocational college will be counted as attending college will vary as schools use different definitions of ‘first gen’.

You don’t check a box for first gen, you submit the college history of your parents and the school determines if you fit their definition.

Specific to the OP:

Since your mother has a nursing degree, you will likely not be considered first gen.
