Am I Considered In-State

I was an out-of-state student for the four years of my undergraduate education. I’m now thinking about applying to a program as a non-degree student for this fall at the same institution. Since I completed my four years at that school, and still live in the state, can I change my drivers license, and be considered in-state?

depends on the state… NC won’t count your in school time but will look at your “intent” after that so I guess they might ask why you didn’t change your drivers licence already because state law requires that you obtain a NC drivers licence within 30 days of “moving” to the state. Don’t know about other states…

More importantly, it depends on the school. Some schools require a year of having paid state taxes to be the qualifier. Gotta check on the school’s def of in stat. Could differ from the state’s definition.
