Am I crazy to apply MIT?

<p>Heey guys I’m current international junior student (On the 10th grade, we have another education system). So it’s my brief resume:</p>

<p>SAT 2200(will increase);
SAT Subject: MathII: 800, Physics: 800;
GPA(Unweighted):4.0
Class Rank: 1/330</p>

<p>ECs:

  1. Tae kwon do : black belt, some awards
  2. President of class;
  3. School Government;
  4. President English club;
  5. Plant a tree;
  6. English Competetive class;
  7. Swimming;
  8. Debate Club;
  9. Play on guitar;
  10. Math club;
  11. Participate in lots of Math olympiadas and have some awards. </p>

<p>Volonteer:

  1. Help orphans study and learn english 300+
  2. Planted trees in zoo, parks etc. 50+</p>

<p>Unfortunately ap classes are unavailable:(; I’m gonna do research this summer;
Also I need your advices, with such resume should I study foundation or 12th grade in the U.S.(we have 11years system)?And will it increase my chances? Also I’m good at writing and I hope i will write decent essays.</p>

Stanford
Harvard

Purdue
Caltech
Upenn
Pennisylvania</p>

<p>You have a shot at a place like MIT, but in general you should add a few more less competitive schools (like Purdue) onto your list. Places like MIT, Stanford etc. are not a sure thing for anyone and you always want to have a few good options.</p>

<p>^Agree (with Happy1)! You have excellent stats but nothing is ever for sure. You have a real chance at somewhere like MIT, but apply to some less-competitive schools too. Just make sure you actually like your “safety schools”, because there’s always a chance you’ll end up at one.

<p>You are not crazy. Who’s crazy is me, planning on applying when I don’t have a 4.0 UW GPA.</p>
