Berkeley: Reach
CMU: Reach
BU: Match
NYU: High match
Case Western: Match
Bucknell: High match
Penn State: Low match
UCSC: Low match
UCSB: Match/High match
W&M: High match/Reach (depends on weighted)

First off, you are not getting anywhere in life if your outlook on applying to college can be summarized as, “Doomed for life.” You are certainly NOT doomed for life, especially if you work hard and earn good grades. There is certainly still hope for you. Use your senior year to bounce back. Colleges look for resilient individuals who can work through hard times and learn from their mistakes. Just find some self-confidence and work hard. Trust me, you’ll do alright. Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1679965-notre-dame-chances-i-will-chance-you-back.html#latest</a></p>

You have plenty of opportunity to shine by getting a 4 or 5 in AP Bio and APUSH by working hard this year and pulling up your grades. You can do it. Good luck.

Understand that with your GPA, whatever it is, it is unreasonable to set a goal as high as a 2100 on the sat

Work hard and keep focused. I would say UCB is going to be a reach regardless if you get all A’s, but you have many very good schools on your list. At the end of your Junior year, calculate your UC GPA (you will get up to 8 extra points for AP/Honors classes) see link: <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/</a>
Aim for that 2100 SAT and you will good chances at several UC’s such as UCI/UCSC and UCSB. All you can do is your best and rest is up to the Adcoms… Good Luck

First, you’re not doomed. Making me and my 3.58 feel like crap! I’m not dreaming anywhere near that high, so calm down. I’m from Cleveland, so happy to see Case on that list. Definitely a much under appreciated school in an underloved city (so much character and such great food).

UC Berkeley (and frankly most of the UCs) is a reach. It’s stupidly hard for a state school. The UC system is totally falling apart due to budget cuts. UCSB is probably your safest bet in that system. UCSD and UCLA are also both super hard, especially out of state (if you’re out of state). NYU I can see but might be a reach. Case as well. Penn State is definitely likely (my best friend goes there and LOVES it!). Bucknell could be reach, but not impossible.

Those are the ones I feel most comfortable commenting on. Would love a chance back. Sending lots of good vibes and lots of luck your way!

Youre honestly better off than the sweeping majority of American students these days

Most of the colleges you list are in the low to mid reaches. Make sure to get a few safeties!

It’s much too early to do a chance, and too early to assume that you’ll be getting all As in harder classes.

Thank you for taking your time and reviewing my thread! I am making some progress as my first psat score was a 155 so around a 1550 SAT. I have been studying and my next score was a 1770 and now it is at an 1800. Even though its not what I want, I am happy that it is going up. Hopefully Ill break my goal by october.

You’re not doomed for life! Really try hard to get straight A’s junior and senior year- show colleges an upward trend and that you’re more capable than what your previous grades make you seem. Also, ignore the person who made the comment about the unlikelihood of getting your goal SAT score. I’m in the same situation as you’re in, yet I took the SAT and got like a 2250 (if you need help/tips, then message me and I’ll be glad to help). If you happened to have an extenuating situation that may have affected your academic performance freshman and sophomore years, be sure to get your guidance counselor to explain it in your recommendation. With your grades, your recommendations and essays will either make or break you. Your ECs are great though!

As for colleges…
UCs: all reaches
Carnegie: reach
Boston U: low reach
NYU: low reach
Case Western: reach
Bucknell: low reach/reach
PSU: match/high match
William and Mary: low reach/reach

Hopefully this helped, good luck!

You should really major in theatre. You have a flair for drama.
