Am I doomed to poverty?

So I am a freshman at Stern this year and my grades are anything but stellar regardless of my effort. What GPA should I be shooting for to try and get the interviews required for the jobs I have been dreaming about. Am I doomed to a life of poverty if I am a mediocre student from Stern?

… (10 char)

You are never doomed to poverty. Stern is also extremely competitive as well so it’s reasonably acceptable to feel “mediocre”. Ultimately, you should aim for a GPA above 3.5 and even higher. Take one step at a time: don’t worry about your prospective occupation yet just focus on your grades. If you work arduously and apply yourself you will do great. It’s only freshman year, so you have plenty of time to improve.

One day at a time. Damn.

My college GPA (at UCI) was 3.4. In Political Science. Somehow, I managed to stay off welfare and sometimes I don’t even have to eat out of dumpsters!

You’ll be fine. There are at least 145 million people in the US who go to work every day and raise families and stuff. A lot of them didn’t even have a GPA over 3.

Nor do they even hold a college degree

Yes, quite a few of the most affluent CEO’s don’t even have college degrees and if they do they are usual from obscure schools. Success is contingent upon the individual.

Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and he is the richest man in the world.

haha, but they don’t have 100k student loan :(

Yes. You will be trapped in poverty and struggle to eat every night.

take advantage of palladium everyday, get jacked up, and work in the escort industry… very lucrative, kinda risky though.
some places may not be readily legal so you should be cautious.

hupkorea is right about that escort stuff. they get paid way more by the hour than some managing directors !

The majority of people don’t even have college degree’s and **** they do fine. you should be fine, it just depends on what you mean by fine though, to me fine is making 30K a year at start., if your lifestyle is different and you need like $100K then id worry because even with a 4.0 and a business degree you wont come close to that.

as for the escorts, some of girls bring in around 30K a night, so don’t **** on them, they make more than most ceo’s. Though its usually the ceo’s and such that get them.
