<p>both my parents went to college for vocational things…like my dad went to beauty school and is a hairdresser, and my mom got a degree in accounting (but just accounting, no undergrad or anything). my brother is at college but hasn’t graduated. am i first generation?</p>
<p>Your brother doesn’t matter, first gen is based your parents. Schools/programs/scholarships used different definitions of first gen. There is nowhere on the CA to state that you are/aren’t first gen; rather, your write down where your parents went to college, what degrees (if any) they earned, and the college decides whether or not that fits within their definition of first gen.</p>
