<p>You won’t be meeting the minimum GPA requirement. UCSD will most likely not accept you.</p>

<p>UCI might accept you. However, talk to your counselor and the individuals UCs about meeting the minimum GPA requirement and the impact of your SAT score. I think your SAT score will make up for your GPA.</p>

<p>Your GPA makes you UC not qualified by normal criteria. But there is a way to qualify for UC based only on SATs, and I don’t remember the cutoff, but your SATs are pretty high and might be your path to UC qualification. However, I doubt you would get into UCI or UCSD with that GPA. Likely only UC Merced. Maybe Riverside.
I wanted to add that the UC GPA is a unique calculated GPA that excludes freshman year and nonacademic classes and gives a boost for honors/AP classes. The 3.0 cutoff is for UC GPA, so calculate yours before making any further estimate as to chances.</p>
