Your GPA is pretty low, SAT is within range and SAT’s are good. It might be a slight reach but you should get some points back for socioeconomic factors.

Also for the record. I’m pretty sure you can not major in electrical engineering and get a minor in computer engineering since its the same dept. could be wrong though.

Additional Info:

community college course
Physics 101, Chemistry 101, Calculus, Summer of 2010

if those ap scores are correct you will get looked at, but i would work on that gpa bud

that was supposed to say SATs are within range and EC’s are good.

too bad you cant edit

If you want to do NROTC at UCSD you would have to do the NROTC part at SDSU. I would look into just going to SDSU. I would say you need to get your GPA up for UCSD

sdsu is easier to get into as well

First off, I am a first year at UCSD and a USD (which is where the unit is based) NROTC Midshipman. For a little comparison, my overall GPA in hs was 3.4-ish and my best SAT was 1690. You definitely have a chance at getting into the NROTC unit though as the previous posters stated, you should work on your GPA a little bit. Your extra curricular activities look very good and very similar to mine in hs.

I actually have to go to class right now so if you have any further questions email them.

I think you should be able to get in.
Despite the GPA, you’re have a pretty good SAT score. Your ECs should be no problem (you should get full points), you should get points for the awards section (probably full points there), full points for leadership, most if not full points for socioeconomic background, and full points for being first generation college

When the admission officer translate our GPA into points. Does the person look at our cumulative or academic GPA? Because if they look only at academic GPA. I will shift more of my time to my academic classes rather than on my electives: computer programming, and mandarin. because of my schedule
