Am I in trouble whith these senior year grades???

I got admitted to the UMDCP (yeyyyy) but I have a C in my AP biology class for this semester. I have two other AP’s and over all my grades are Aand B’s

i wanted to know if this C in bio will affect my admission.
thank you

You should be fine. No Ds, OK?

It won’t. They really only ask for grades from students whose applications were on the borderline.

You will be fine. They do not ask for final transcripts. Once you are in, you are in.

They do ask for Final Transcripts from everyone. I personally don’t know what GPA average one should maintain in order to still be matriculated into UMD, but I know it is higher than a 3.0. Just make sure you don’t get any C’s or D’s.

armaryland17 – Did you hear from admissions that they’re just starting this year to ask for everyone’s final transcripts? They haven’t done that in the past for the entire incoming class…

“We do not use mid year grades in our initial freshman review. We will contact you by late January if your midyear grade reports are necessary and we do not have a form to use for reporting them. However, if admitted and once you confirm “yes” to your admission, you will ask your counselor to send your final high school transcript to our attention. We do expect your final high school transcript to show your graduation date and similar grades that were reported when you first applied.”

From an e-mail I got from admissions office couple of months ago (Oct.).

so on my final transcript a C won’t be a problem, right?

That is very interesting. I wonder if this is stated on their admissions site. This would probably be the case if it were going to be a standard practice.

what are you talking about?

I was referring to the previous post with a quote from an email from armaryland regarding final transcripts. This is a first. I wonder if it was intended for just the poster because I haven’t seen this information online regarding all.

ah, ok sorry. what do you think about my situation?

So… will they be seeing just your overall grade or will they see individual grades (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Mid-Terms, Finals)?

Your transcript just shows the overall grade.

That’s good, because I got an ‘E’ on one of my midterms but will still end up with a ‘B’ overall in the class.

so i finally got the first semester grades: A, A, A, A-, B, B-, then a C on AP Biology

what do you guys think??? am i ok or not???

Dude.

You’re fine. Chill.

This requesting final grades from everyone is not new…they did this 2-3 years ago when I was admitted as a freshman, so idk why everyone is surprised.

Oh, no, wait, I know! Because they matter so little, people didn’t even realize they existed ><

Rescinding admissions is very rare. I believe you’d have to do exceptionally bad. And I don’t see mostly As as being exceptionally bad. Maybe if it was mostly Ds they’d raise an eyebrow. But I know 1000000000000000000% there is no way they’d rescind over a C, and I’m actually like 99% sure they wouldn’t rescind over 1 D, either.

thanks dude
