I am applying to Northwestern and WashU for the Spring, and have not yet submitted my CommonApp (though I’m about to). However, all of my supporting materials have probably been in for a while. Am I causing chaos by having all the rec letters, ect. floating around and then submitting my app right around the deadline? This is ridiculous, but do they take any note of how close to the deadline an applicant pushes it?

I don’t think colleges are going to hold it against you if you turn in your application right before the deadline. Sure, they’d probably prefer that you send and submit everything all at once, maybe a month or two before the deadline, but as long as everything gets in on time you should be fine.
