Am I just being paranoid?

Hey guys,

With Yale’s decision approaching soon, I have started getting a bit concerned about something. On about wed. this week, the American Red Cross tried to call my house during the day when no one was home and they left no message. At the time, I didn’t think much of the call, but it was strange as I only work for the Red Cross in the summer. Now I’ve started to worry a bit because I volunteered significantly with the Red Cross these last four summers. The deal is, though, that the Red Cross doesnt have all the hours I volunteered for recorded because they accidently didnt put my hours into their system for almost every blood drive I volunteered for during my first two years there. Additionally, I started working for them during the summer before high school and I counted that as 9th grade and then counted last summer as 12th grade. I said I only vounteered in the summers too…would Yale know wat I meant there. Ultimately, I guess I am just trying to find out if Yale was trying to confirm my hours and the RC told them I hadnt volunteered with them as much as I said. My GC, however, has not been contacted by Yale.

Thanks,
Robbie

It’s probably not a big deal. Plus, if they really were checking, it would have most likely been earlier, before EA decisions were made.

Annd, I doubt Yale was meticulous enough to seek out your hours when they had over 5000+ applicants to review.

They audit applications randomly I think. Why don’t you just call the Red Cross back and have this settled?

Cadillac-

I am planning on doing that, but the thought that the RC may have been calling bc of my hours just occured to me. So, I can’t contact them until monday anyway. However, would Yale have made an effort to contact my GC or something like that if they were going to cancel my application because of potential hours exaggerations?

Hey guys,

Sorry to keep pushing this, but if colleges did think I was exaggerating they would go to me or my GC before they removed my app right?

^ I don’t hear of that happening…especially so close to decision time…Would they really call the Red Cross NOW and confirm your hours? Well I guess the call did happen on Wednesday, but I don’t think Yale would be that late in calling. I think you’re being paranoid, and maybe the RC was calling about something else or asking you to help them with something else (: It’s okay everyone get’s paranoid. I personally believe you don’t have much to worry about. Good luck!
