I left the house today wearing 2 different clogs-one black patent, the other olive suede. I am turning 60 on Nov1. I didn’t notice, but then nobody else did either. Is this age related? All my clogs feel the same. Do younger people ever do this?

I’m a year and a half younger than you, and I went to work wearing mismatched shoes one day earlier this month.

So if you’re losing it, so am I.

I have two pairs of dress pants - one navy and one black. They are not exactly alike, but close. When I was getting dressed for work yesterday, I held my pants up to the light and compared them to something black to make sure they were the black ones. But when got outside, in the natural light, I’ll be damned if I didn’t have the navy ones on!
BTW - I went to work on my first job out of college wearing one black pump and one navy pump one day.

I’ve worn slippers out by accident. In my 30’s, 40’s, etc. And different colored socks, which I admit aren’t all that visible under pants. Wrong colored belt.

Ohhh the black vs navy blue thing is really difficult…,especially at 5 a.m.!

I went to visit my sons in DC last month, leaving at 5 a.m.

I got to airport security and discovered I was wearing mismatched sneakers. I had my husband bring a matching shoe to me when he joined me two days later.

Did it in my 30s and in my 40s… And maybe other times I didn’t notice. Once I thought I had black pants on, and put everything else on to match my black pants. Got to work before I even realized it. I wore the shoes all day, but had to go home for the pants… I just couldn’t stand it.

Have put on two different black flats one time. Constantly putting shirts on inside out. Been doing that for years.

Wow, im 57 and REALLY happy to have company on this!

Have you put the milk in the kitchen cupboard lately?
I have. :)

I used to have two pairs of boots that were identical, except that one pair was brown and one black. One day I went to work wearing one black one and one brown one. I was about 30 at the time. :)

I search through five rooms in the house looking for my eyeglasses. Only problem was that I was holding them in my left hand.

I’ve wound up in my car a few times completely forgetting to put my shoes on. Even more depressing since I park on the street and walked barefoot through my grass lawn to get there.

Left home for work in my sweatpants once in my 40s. Got halfway there and figured it out (had taken the dog out, then forgot to change). No time to run home, had a meeting that day – stopped at a Target and bought a pair of black pants that sufficed for the day… For whatever reason I had put on appropriate shoes, just totally spaced changing my pants.

This kind of thing happens more when you are tired. When COkid2 was a baby (not sleeping much at night!) I recall 3 year old COkid1 asking me, “Mommy, why are you pouring orange juice on my Cheerios?”. Just so you know, we went with it…tastes ok.

Colorado, spent years pouring oj on cereal, when I had severe allergies from milk. I rather liked the taste.

Went out once with two difference color Birkenstock on my feet. Same design.

Love this thread. I have worn my shirts inside out so many times . . . wore two different shoes to a step class once not so very long ago. Something didn’t feel right, and finally I figured it out. The shoes were both white athletic shoes, though, so, I don’t think anyone else noticed.

My trouble is when I’m trying to get my kids’ attention. Even if I’m trying to tell my third son something, I still go through all three names. He’s starting to think his name is lima1-lima2-lima3.

mini, when I was a youngster, I recall being in the library and balancing a library book on my head. But when I needed to leave, I couldn’t find that darn book. It was still on top of my head.

Believe me, it doesn’t always have to do with age. Years ago, when my sister and I were in our 20’s, we went for a day long shopping trip. In the dressing room, my sis called me over to show me she had drawn only one eyebrow on (she has very light eyebrows). She chastised me for not noticing. :p

I often put my shirts on backwards.
But I usually have on matching shoes.
Even if I am late because I had to hunt for them.

Last thing i do as i go out the door for a too early shift at the hospital is check to see that i actually have scrub pants on…scrub top and undies would not be a good look.
