Am I missing something here? Assist.org

So, I was looking through the transfer agreement for my community college and UCLA’s Environmental Science major… and nothing appeared.

All I get is this:

====Environmental Science/B.S.====

Transfer admission to UCLA is competitive; strong academic preparation and
performance are primary elements of the admission review. Information about
UCLA’s transfer selection process is available at [UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu). You
should complete as many major preparation courses as possible prior to transfer.
For information regarding preparation for this major visit [UCLA Institute of the Environment](http://www.ioe.ucla.edu)

END OF MAJOR

BUTT!! when I got to UCLA’s website, it gives me this:
[Transfer Major Prep - Environmental Science - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/lsmajors/env_sci.htm)

I checked a couple of different community colleges for that major just to make sure it wasn’t just my CC…does that mean all I have to do is complete my IGETC to transfer as an environmental science major?

Oh, and do you think it’s a good choice for pre-med :)? I just don’t want to make it seem like it’s too weak or not hard enough… Easy enough to get a high GPA? :P

all u have to do is IGETC to transfer, and complete 60 units, with a good GPA.

the other link u have is what u have to take when u get there, it would be smart fo you to take a couple of those classes at ur JC if they have any of them, so ull have a one up on other transfers doing ur major.

It is a good major for med, cuz it does provide you with , calc, bio, chem, ochem, physics…so yeah go for it! good luck!

Ohhh! So that’s your upper division courses  Wow! Pretty cool! Thank you so much!

Regarding taking some of my ‘upper division’ courses for this major, how do I know if the courses will be transferable?

courses that are transferable will say UC Transferable in ur class catlogue.

My last post was wrong, I actualy went to assist, and looked at it, ur supposed to take as many of the courses in that other link as possible before you transfer AND IGETC.

sorry about that.

its stupid that they dont just articulate it on assist…

Oh it’s okay. So it’s totally Assist’s fault. P: Hmm, I wonder why it’s not up?

is it assists fault?? i alway thought it was the schools’ responsibility to put up the classes and stuff, oh well…

you don’t need to finish all those courses, just as many as possible, so just do whichever ones ur CC has

good luck!

Hmm…that seems weird!
