I also am a distinguished scholar for the state I live in, and have received awards for good performance on the National Latin Exams.

My essays will probably be really good, since I am a very strong writer.

Letters of Rec…I can probably get one from a former US ambassador…and numerous teachers would write me one saying how hard-working I am…so those will probably be good.

Any advice or suggestions, please feel free!
Thanks in advance and for reading my post.

Everything’s looking pretty solid, except your SAT Math score.
Good luck.

Two of the three will say I am one of the best students they have ever had. The other graduated from the University of Chicago, if that changes anything.

Essays:
Have already started. Coming along nicely.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome!

bump…

Hey everything looks great… I’m not sure if the hunting will help unless you won some competitions or somehow raised money for charity with it. As long as you pull up your math SAT score about 50 points, you should be pretty much set. Good Luck!

Well… I just looked over your credentials again and you are very strong in everything else so your SAT I math score shouldn’t affect your chances too much. Maybe just try to get it to ~650 and you will be set.

Thanks! I’m retaking the SAT in October for 800 CR, 800 W, 650+ M so hopefully that will not be an issue.

Just FYI, the UofC only looks at CR+M, not W.

^I know. Unfortunately for me.

Don’t worry, seriously. Your academics are strong enough (yes, even for Chicago). I’d worry more about the essays and presenting your ECs well. If you’ve done more than just occupy a title with your clubs, and your essays are ok, I’d say you have a fantastic chance.

It’s not like the UofC admissions office is so incompetent to realize what it means that you have 2360 on your SAT IIs and a bunch of 5s on your APs. ;)

Obviously, raising your SATs can only help you, but you certainly are solid in your other respects. Even though the W isn’t counted, the fact that you score as well as you do should put you in good shape for those all important essays.

Oh, and UofC doesn’t require SAT IIs. Obviously, they can’t hurt you, but I don’t know how much of a help they’ll be.

Yeah raise your SAT math and keep working right on through senior year. Write some good essays…chicago loves essays
