** Whoops. Sorry, I spelt sophomore wrong in the title.
~

I’m in the class of 2011, so I’m in grade 10 right now. It’s a bit early, but I figure: it doesn’t hurt to be prepared. Hopefully.

I’m applying to a mix of North American universities. The ones I have in mind right now are McGill, University of Toronto, Johns Hopkins University, University of Washington, and maybe Columbia.

I’m rather ambitious, considering my academic achievements (which are lacking). My extra-curricular activities are kind of irregular, besides piano and diving. My average is around 95 right now. I miss quite a lot of school, and I have a tutor that travels with us during diving competitions, but I still end up missing homework explanations and study criteria for tests, so…

I volunteer at the local SPCA as much as possible (AKA weekly/bi-weekly). Currently, I have about 100 hours of volunteering done… I’m also looking into volunteering at the local art musuem.
My extra-currics are rather unimpressive: I’m on student council (which is a bit ironic, in my opinion), I take piano (since I was 9), I volunteer, I take ballet(since I was 4), I’m in the district honor band(2 years), I play softball (w/ several provincial awards.), and I’ve won several district French oratory contests.

My hook would have to be my diving. I’m in top 20 at age-group FINA Worlds. I’m part of the Olympic development team, for diving, too. I’m not sure I’ll be recruited at any of these universities for diving, so would that all go to waste?
I haven’t taken the SATs but in practice tests (which are wildly unreliable, I know, but…), I always score in the 2000-2200 range. I have 2 years to improve those, though.

Would you say I’m on track for these schools? Does anybody have any other suggestions for universities? And, does anybody have any information on the process of being recruited (for diving, in particular…). Sorry, I know I’m clueless.
Thanks again!
