Am I out of luck for Early Decision?

I applied Early Decision to American University. The deadline was 11/15; I completed the online application and sent it in 3 days before the deadline, and also mailed my materials two days before the deadline express mail. According to the online tracker, they arrived at American University ON the 15th, but on American's website, it says they received the materials on the 21st. Does anyone know if they look at the date the package was recieved/posted rather than when they actually processed their materials? I really hope they didn't automatically reject me from ED. I'm hesitant to email them and ask, in the case that it might just be overlooked and everything will go okay. I'm supposed to hear from them by Dec. 31st, so I guess I'll know soon... Thanks a lot.

I thought that the deadline was a postmark deadline. But anyway, I doubt that they'll care even if it's late. I mean, they have more things to worry about than that. Plus, since you sent in the online application on time, they were probably expecting more materials from you.

For the college I applied to, they told me that admissions counselors know it takes a few weeks for students to stuff in, so they wouldn't even start looking at materials until 3 or 4 weeks later.

It's fine, relax.

But if you're still worried, I would just make an anonymous call.

Alright, that's good to know, it makes me feel a lot better. Thanks.

That might just be when they filed it. :) I'm sure it's okay...

Almost all schools use the postmark rule, so you will know by the end of the yr if you'll be moving close to VPOTUS's house. Good luck.
