So… I went to the post office today to mail some other applications out… my mother checked her P.O. box and a torn check was in there… It was addressed to Brown… I sent out my application perhaps 2 weeks ago… the note said that they found the check loose in the mail… the transfer application deadline is thursday… what happens if they lost everything? all my forms… I don’t care about the essays… I can always re-print them… but wth… blah. Screwed I am.

Call the admissions office and ask if they got all your forms, if not, fax them as soon as possible. Mail the check by express mail. They’ll understand that stuff gets lost in the mail. The entire second part of my Rice application was never received by the school, even when I sent it by overnight mail. The USPS website even confirmed that it was delivered, but somehow, it was never in my file. I called and they said to just fax it as fast as I could.

Was your check in the same package as the rest of your app? Because if the check fell out, I have to assume that the package ripped open and everything was lost. So, just call and ask if they got it, but they may not have sorted through everything yet, so they might not have a definite answer.
