My best friend got in to Stanford and we are from a basic public school in California.

<p>Why would you not? I doubt they throw out a candidate just because a classmate was accepted. If they did, they’re quite dumb. Of course you still have a chance.</p>

<p>they still wont reject you solely on the basis of kids from your school attending Stanford, although they do like “diversity.” If you are qualified enough and would normally be accepted, you will still get in…However, if you are on the bubble, they might (just maybe) accept a kid from a different school, or more likely from out of state…</p>
