Am I the Only One Who Doesn't Understand the Comforter/Duvet Cover Combo??

So why did we abandon the old standby of sheet-blanket-bedspread??

I’m sitting here under a sheet, blanket and quilt. The quilt is like our bedspread. Not abandoned in this house! And this is what is on all of the beds!

Me too! Sheet and quilt. That’s it. If I need more I have a coverlet folded at the foot of the bed I can pull up.

After reading this thread, I want a serious and resounding CC intervention if I ever so much as LOOK at a duvet.

Me too! I love my sheet-down blanket-coverlet trio, because here in my neck of the woods dressing and sleeping under “layers” is pretty helpful for temperature control. :)

I love my duvet without flat sheet, no moving parts.

Thick rubber bands work really well for holding corners in place.

I’ve had my Swiss down comforter for 25 years and it’s as warm and fluffy as ever. It gets washed in warm water about every 5 years and solarized on the line outside every summer.

Agree with the suggestion of Target for soft cotton covers. Ikea used to carry a nice selection too.
