Am I wasting my time taking AP classes?

Am I wasting my time taking AP classes in high school if I just want to go to a CCC and then transfer to a UC? Do AP classes serve any purpose whatsoever in this case?

Not really it actually makes cc easier…I took ap classes and it actually prepare me for college level work load and cc is alott easier now

And plus if u pass the ap exams u still get credit

AP scores of 3, 4 or 5 can fulfill certain pre-requisites and save you time. Also, you will be exempt from taking the mandatory placement test with passing scores in English and calculus.

I see. So do 3s, 4s and 5s on AP exams help complete IGETC as well?

Yes, it does. I got a 4 on AP Lang. and Lit. and skipped English 1. I also got a 4 on APUSH which completes a section in IGETC.

Awesome. But is credit given for AP classes dependent on which CCC you go to?

No, its all in a UC standard.

yea, you’ll be happier to register earlier once you transfer

APES counts for your lab science if your not a fan of labs. I was pretty happy when I found that out. The Labs are always at odd times of days and are hard to make work with a full time job.

how do we request the scores so we can show our CCC?
