<p>Oh! The veil! Look at that veil!</p>
<p>NYmom, my daughter bought me a cup with his face so I can see his face everyday when I drink tea. I was never fanatic about anybody over the UK, even princess Diana.</p>
<p>I am so over strapless wedding dresses. Between Kate’s and Amal’s, lets hope the tide continues turning.</p>
<p>^^^ Couldn’t agree more; I don’t like them, even on the brides on whom they look good. So unoriginal. My tongue will have to be sewn back on if either of my daughters ever picks one, because I will be biting it so much.</p>
<p>It’s just played out. And too many people who don’t wear it well insist on wearing it anyway.</p>

<p>Couldn’t agree more about strapless wedding dresses. They look awful on almost everyone.</p>
<p>When I consider the other dresses available when I got married-- those horrible dresses with the huge shoulders-- I’m glad I chose a strapless dress. I already have big shoulders. I didn’t want to look like a linebacker.</p>
<p>I’m also not a fan of the mullet dresses, but I thought she rocked them…first person I’ve seen to pull them off. I liked both…the pre wedding red one with the train, and I loved the floral one. I do think I would have liked it better if it had just been short all around…but it still worked on her. The pantsuit and hat were stunning with the black strip on each part. Her wedding dress just seems okay to me. I read some article that said besides the immaculate fabric and detail that is definitely couture, the cut of the dress could have just been off the rack. I agree with that…nothing spectacular although she looked lovely. I didn’t like her hair. She has a gorgeous mane…and I don’t think it looked that great under the veil…why not do something a little different for the wedding…that might have set the dress off more…showed her shoulders.</p>
<p>I think she will return to work, but I doubt in the same capacity. SHE will be looked at instead of her clients while defending them…I bet she might do more back room work…we will see, maybe not.</p>
<p>Also…I guess the age difference always bugs me a little. There are lots of interesting, beautiful women that are George’s age…yet he never dated any it seems. I am defensive for all of us middle agers!</p>
<p>It was fun to see the pictures over the weekend - Venice made such a wonderful backdrop. I loved the striped Prada dress she wore on Friday during the day - very 1950s and classic. The red evening dress was pretty, but the color was too bold for a bride to wear to a rehearsal dinner - I would have liked to see her in something more delicate. I also thought the black pumps looked too heavy - a sandal would have been better. The dress she wore on Sunday was horrible - it made her look alarmingly thin. I can’t imagine what she was thinking other than Anna Wintour told her to wear it. The white pants suit was very nice, except that the pants were too long and dragged on the ground, breaking the line (and ruining the hem). I just saw a picture posted of the short “flapper” style cocktail dress she changed into during the reception, and it looks lovely. The wedding gown was pretty…typical looking, but the effect of the veil was lost with her hair down…not sure why she didn’t choose to put it up.</p>
<p>Mullett dress! :)) I haven’t heard it called that before. I like the floral one, but the red one may have been too short in front. </p>
<p>Even though I liked the striped dress, I would never wear it in Venice. It looks like what all the gondoliers are wearing. </p>
<p>@gourmetmom@ I haven’t seen any pictures yet of the bottom of her outfits or shoes. Was at meijers this morning, and they didn’t have People or Vogue on display yet. Although we disagree about her dresses, we totally agree about her hair and veil. She could have even done a “high” half up/half down look that would have been stunning, but I still would have likes to seen it up high…what a knock out look that would have been. There are enough pics of her with it down. For some reason she must not like that look. I haven’t seen the flapper dress at the reception yet.</p>

<p>I love all the boat pics…we stayed at the Cipriani last year…the hotel has its own boat that transports guests back and forth between Guidecca and St. Marco’s. The captain let my 14-year-old S pilot the boat several times (which I found shocking, actually, given the boat traffic there in July) and those are my favorite pics of the trip.</p>
<p>I’ll have to look up Cipriani…we are planning on doing an Italy tour next September with Venice being our first stop!</p>
<p>I’m not a fan of the high-low hemline either, but if anyone has the legs for it, she does. </p>
<p>The age difference doesn’t bother me…she’s pushing 40, not 22.</p>
<p>That’s true about the age…it’s not like she was 25 AND she is quite accomplished and beautiful. What man wouldn’t want her? I’m surprised she hadn’t been snatched up yet…but what a guy to hold out for, eh?</p>
<p>She is 36, he is 53. Fine by me. </p>

Apparently, this is the current “in” thing, which I do not think I will ever “get.” Doubtful it will ever take off in my rainy city! :)) </p>

<p>@bunsenburner…thanks for the link. Yep, those pants are horrible and ruined the overall look. Instead of looking at her beautiful hat and figure, the eyes go directly to the pants. I didn’t even know this was an “in” thing. I’ve not seen that anywhere.</p>
<p>Okay, I looked. The floral embroidered crocheted mini high low thing is beyond awful. I like long pants, but I think tall women tend to like long pants because they are such a rare find. Cindy Crawford could have done a whole lot better than that ill-fitting purple number. And, the age difference is not an issue. She’s 36, that’s plenty.</p>
