<p>I haven’t looked at the pictures. My wedding dress 27 years ago was shorter in the front than the back, but it was a $150 sample and I really don’t care much about fashion. I think it is really sad that she is an accomplished professional woman and now she will be a celebrity whose most important things discussed are her clothes and hair.</p>
<p>The white high low dress, seriously, it looked like a lampshade. There is a big difference between fashionable and fashion victim. That dress put her into the slave to fashion turned victim, IMO. I wonder if George is a bit of a svengali…he’s always struck me that way with his parade of girlfriends over the years who he plucks from relative obscurity to dress up and promote.</p>
<p>I don’t know if too-long pants are “in” right now or not. Those were too long, regardless of the fashion. I am certain that hers were ruined after a few hours dragging on the filthy cobblestones of Venice. It is feels awful to wear pants that drag like that - it feels like they’re being pulled down. She may changed her choice of shoe at the last minute and found out too late that these were too long. I have several similar wide legged pants…I made sure that I wore the correct height heel when I had the hem measured, so that they don’t drag. About a quarter inch above grazing the ground is perfect…creates a long line and gives the illusion of nearly touching the ground. </p>
<p>Gourmetmom, I saw a number of outfits in the recent lookbooks that featured pants that are too long. I recently bought a pair of “fancy pants” pants at the Rack and, being 4 inches shorter than the models the pants were designed for, I immediately took them in for hemming. The Nordstrom seamstress suggested hemming them so they would drag on the ground a tiny bit, because this was how these were supposed to look. Uhm, no. :)</p>
<p>Ankle pants are a godsend in my rainy city! </p>
<p>I am positive that Stella McCartney pantsuit was supposed to have overlong pants legs. I agree that particular style is stupid, and mullet dresses are stupid too, but both are supposed to look like that.</p>
<p>Well, I still like the pants. The dress is worse than stupid, though. It’s indescribably ugly in every way. The pants are just a little long.</p>
<p>I’m wondering if designers pay her to wear their clothes, instead of having her buy them. There couldn’t be a better way to advertise than to have this stunning woman being photographed in them. </p>
<p>I’m sure designers were fighting to dress her for the big day. Also, agree on the lampshade dress. It’s a very big fail.</p>
<p>I don’t like the lampshade dress, but I wouldn’t call it a big fail. She still looks gorgeous and happy. Also, IMO, if a woman is marrying George Clooney, there is no big fail to be found for her.</p>
<p>Well, I was only talking about the dress. And, only that dress. Everything else works imho. </p>

<p>I didn’t love the shape of the lampshade dress but I think somehow she made it work…if anything we are discussing it, right? I did love the fabric and flowers though. Goldie hawn looks great, except for the filler. I’m not a fan of filler, I think it looks too unnatural.</p>
<p>I thought that the lampshade dress was dreadful and fashion-victim-like. We’re discussing it because we would discuss pretty much whomever George married, quite frankly. </p>
<p>I sat next to Goldie Hawn at a luncheon a few weeks ago…she doesn’t look too nipped or filled in person, actually. She looks her age, but happy and healthy, and confidently so. I was impressed.</p>
<p>Does she really look like she’s almost 70? Her face, hair, and (especially) figure look much younger to me. </p>

<p>Personally, I have never and will never be a fan of the high low or low high hemline, nor hemlines that cause clothing to drag on the ground. Other than the pantleg dragging on the ground, I loved the white/cream pantsuit and hat with black ribbon. Also loved her in the black & white dress and wedding gown. The other outfits, not as much. If George and she are happy and remain happy, great & more power to both of them!</p>

<p>I think Goldie does look her age…and as fit and fashionable as she has been her entire life. I’m all for being our best at whatever age…something to look forward to :)</p>
<p>I personally thought the red gown was the wrong color or something. The white eyelet dress with flowers was just a little bit too short. But, I’m guessing she is wearing that style because she can get away with it. Frankly, who wouldn’t want to be tall, skinny and have really long legs! I’d try every style if I had that figure.</p>
<p>Yes, if I had those legs I’d probably be wearing very short dresses, too.</p>
