I did this yesterday and today. It is legitimate.

Search thank my driver in the Amazon search bar. Your driver will get a free $5 tip from Amazon. You pay nothing. This is a limited time promo. Share widely!

I “Thank My Driver” after Alexa announces a delivery - I just say, “Alexa, thank my driver”. It acknowledges that. You can always thank your driver, but I guess normally it just goes on their record.

I don’t have an Amazon driver. My packages come via USPS, FedEx, and UPS. So I wondered what would happen if I Thanked My Driver? Amazon is thanking my UPS driver! This is a nice promotion on Amazon’s part. I appreciate all my delivery drivers, and like letting them know that.

I just don’t order from Amazon any more but it is nice to tip your driver for sure. That is a crazy hard job.

I thanked my driver and it says they will get a $5 tip. I figure they deserve it as they’re working hard to deliver all the December orders.

The last two Amazon deliveries were thrown onto my front steps. I don’t think that deserves a five dollar tip.

And they probably earn peanuts. Most of the time, they get it right. If I can afford to buy $5 junk from Amazon, the least I can do is help them get $5 from Amazon :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree with it being a hard job and most doing a great job, but they are definitely not making “peanuts”.

“Peanuts” is relative to where people live. In my area, they make a bit more than minimum wage. But that’s not the point really. If anyone wants Amazon to give a driver a $5 tip, this is a way to do so.

Did it last night by simply rating my delivery as “above and beyond.” Amazon said the driver will get his $5. The delivery was indeed ahead of schedule and gently placed by the door.

Smart move by Amazon: $5 is peanuts to Bezos, but it generates positive publicity for Amazon. And doesn’t hurt that the drivers get a little tip.

I have used the tip option in the past, and I did as well yesterday. But they do not know what the box contains and they should follow the delivery instructions. Throwing the boxes onto the top step (uncovered) on our covered entrance is not ok. Sorry.

That doesn’t deserve a tip, I agree, even if that comes from the Bezos’ pocket.

I would not have given a tip to the driver who backed his van over two path lights (he also did not see the large rock under the bushes he tried to drive over, so it was rock 1, van 0, lol).

So the money part of the thank you is over. It apparently reached its limit. You can continue to thank your driver, but they won’t get the $5 tip…
