I’m just curious, why have two of you posted your old SAT scores? AU is looking at the writing section…

It’s true that they will look at writing, but no one knows to what degree. Since the writing section is new this year, schools really have no point of reference for scores. I think the majority of schools that consider the writing section won’t give it as much weight as your CR/M composite.

Oh, my two other private schools I’ve applied to have said theyre weighting them equally and just using former SAT 2 writing scores as a basis. But I guess since American doesnt require SAT 2’s, thatd be hard…

Good god you guys have high stats for American. I doubt I’ll get accepted…

1270/1940 SAT. 3.6 Weighted GPA. Unsure of major. I put down journalism, but I think I would rather study English, which I don’t think American even offers. It seems like a good school for me, however. I may change my major to something more “practical” than English anyway.

btw yankeegirl49… AU don’t have a CLEP program (unless of course your daughter plans on majoring in the “College Level. Examination Program (CLEP)” haha… just letting you know at AU the program is called CLEG, which stands for Communication, Law, Economics, and Government.

The program is really great, (i’m a CLEG & poli sci major btw ) and i would highly reccomend it for your daughter. Poli sci and CLEG is the easiest double major @ AU because the classes fit so nicely together
