I also didn’t care for Jenas bangs or straighten hair - it’s a little confusing to the viewer cause she looks so different. Stay WHO you are - whoever that person is!!

I did find myself more interest in the band members performance during Caleb’s song than him.

And how about those comments and shot of Jennifer’s back and back of her dress?? Yes, that was exactly what I tuned in to see - not!!!

I had the order this week almost exactly as it was called. Jena was best, Alex stood out more than Caleb because Caleb sometimes seemed less interesting than the band. CJ did his best so far. Sam I thought did better than CJ but I agreed with Harry’s comment that the song wasn’t well known enough and also that CJ brought more performance to his number. My problem with Dexter is he only sounded really good in his farewell song. The rest of the time he sounded like a generic country singer who never pushed his voice into higher registers. I wasn’t sure if Jess would go or Dexter but I thought they were equivalent.

I agree with some of this. Not crazy about Jena, never could put my finger on it, but she irritates my husband because she does not enunciate her words. She can sing two lines and we might not understand a single word of what she sang. It sounds good, but what did she just sing? I didn’t think Caleb’s song was that great, and I also spent more time watching the band. Even though Sam’s song wasn’t well known (I’d never heard it), I guarantee plenty of people know it now and are going to be downloading. When you’re that good, it really doesn’t matter if anyone has ever heard the song. I wish he’d stay away from the hats, though. Wish everyone on AI would totally ditch the hats.

I forgot to add, when the singers are performing and they cut to the judges, we don’t even look anymore. I look down until it’s over, and my husband puts his hand up to block them, until they go back to the performances. AI, we…just…don’t…care what the judges are doing during the performances. We don’t care if they’re laughing, chatting with each other, singing along, rocking out, staring, jamming. We don’t want to look at them. It ruins the performances. Knock it off!

I think it is extremely disrespectful to a singer’s performance when they show the judges and they are TALKING. JLo, sitting in the middle, is usually the initiator.

Yes, agree with that. PLEASE don’t let us lose a good person over CJ!

Continuing to HATE when they show those voting stats during the show.

LOVED Sam’s first performance. LOVED Alex’s second performance and though it wasn’t perfect, how he tried to step out of his comfort zone for the first. LOVED the message in Sam’s first song - “don’t try to change me”. ;)

TIRED of the Caleb screaming fest and his over the top antics on the stage. Of course the audience reacts to this - but is it QUALITY??! He’s a good singer, but does he have lasting recording ability? I say no.

JLo SOOO has Jena pegged for the win. I have nothing against Jena winning but I hate when the judges blatantly favor - and JLo seems to always favor a girl.

Why are the judges so afraid to criticize CJ? They tiptoe around telling him he just isn’t cutting it. If I hear ONE MORE TIME that a year ago he was working in a bbque place…

Jessica kind of mystifies me. Personality wise, I’'m not sure who she is. She can be so flat on the stage. She can seem to not care what the judges say. Then she seems to warm up a bit and try to become more engaging. But I can’t help but think back to earlier in the season and all her confrontations with a couple of the contestants and wonder if there isn’t a degree of “fakeness” going on on the stage. I don’t know. She’s beautiful. Her voice though not my cup of tea is truly good. Hard to put my finger on her though.

Agree with most of abasket’s post, though I do think Caleb is incredibly talented and he will sell a lot of records, no matter where he ends up. Really liked both of Sam’s performances, don’t care for when Alex sings too fast. Much better when he does slower songs. I like Jena more when I can actually understand what she’s singing.

I really wish JLo would stop saying stupid things to try to embarrass the contestants, though perhaps she isn’t intending to do so. Like commenting on Alex’s leg movements, or remarking on Sam blushing, “Oh, you’re having FEELINGS!” C’mon you idiot, it’s hot up there, millions of people watching, I’m sure some of the others have color to their faces, most of us would turn bright red the second we got on that stage and it would have nothing to do with having feelings. I am SOOO sick of her.

I thought Sam was stronger last night than before. As I see it, the two weakest now are CJ and Jessica, which means Sam could make the final 4, which is amazing.
