Thought MK looked beautiful on Wednesday night but wished she had not worn her hat and high-tops. I never thought Kristen should have been sent to Hollywood, thinking her sister was the stronger of the two. It was interesting to see Alex and Sierra in the audience (winners of XFactor this past season). They appeared to be supporting Alex, who kind of reminds me of a solo version of them.

I agree with abasket and wish that Malaya could have left, too. She is incredibly annoying. I think it was a mistake for Kristen to have even been there in the first place. She just isn’t that good. I hope that these kids settle in and improve each week because I didn’t really enjoy many of them this week. I could listen to Alex, Sam, and MK indefinitely. The rest of them just don’t do it for me.

I understand that the judges may get attached to these kids but Jennifer stating that she’s upset or mad, or that the particular singer ‘deserves’ to be there, is just silly. The nature of the show is that someone is going home every week. Other than the winner, they are all going home. All the discussion of a save in the first week, and with this singer, is silly, too. No way that they were going to do that.

Kristin was fine bust imo just very “white bread,” and not because she is white, but because she just seemed fine but not extraordinary. Just okay, not offensive, pretty, but no “star.”

Is it just me, or do others start to get confused with all the contestants involved between AI and TheVoice? When they overlap each other I can’t pick a favorite as easily.

Lergmon, congrats to your friend on getting on AI and getting into Berklee … my D is finishing up at Berklee this semester and many doors have been opening up each semester throughout her time there.

^I don’t watch The Voice but am getting confused with just the AI contestants!

Have any of the Voice winners made it big? I don’t think I could name one of them.

One of the worst top-12 shows on American Idol… ever.

Yup–singing in tune is apparently a lost art this season. And is some cases, so is personality. I didn’t watch the live show but took a look at the performances on a blog that recaps them. I didn’t make it past halfway for most of them, since it was quite obvious from the opening notes which were going to be dismal. (Great time saver!) I remember the days when I was transfixed by every minute of this show…the days when no one would dream of wearing a backwards baseball cap on a national television!

Yep, very underwhelmed last night. Sam sang well, but it was an unknown song so that doesn’t always go over well with voters. Majesty was the best IMO, (not to mention LOVE THAT SONG!) but it was a song that needed three minutes at least, not 90 seconds or whatever they give it. Everyone else - meh. Emily had fun stage presence singing JLo’s song, but her voice was flat and uninteresting. Caleb reminds me of the guys who sing rock songs well enough and do the weekend summer festival circuit around town.

Everybody needs to GET RID OF THE HATS!!! :)

Was also ticked off that after 12 years or whatever of shows that AI cannot seem to have good time management with their two hours. They were so rushed at the last few contestants that they got jipped on their reviews. Perhaps a blessing if they didn’t do well, but if they did do ok, they barely got credit for it.

Also, HATE the idea of showing voting results during the show - AWFUL idea!!! Those photos they show of the contestants during that and the ones at the top of the auditorium when a contestant is voted off reminds me of The Hunger Games!

And I more dislike - all the techno stuff going on behind the contestants when they are performing - so distracting!

Otherwise, I love the show. :)

I agree about the hat thing. I get that MK doesn’t like to go the girly girly route, and that’s okay. But to wear a baseball hat backwards ALL the time (also in real life) just seems silly, as is wearing any particular accessory every darn day.

Anyone have a prediction on who will go home today? Sounds like most of you feel any one of them would be deserving of being cut.

I actually fell asleep halfway through, it was that bad. First time I’ve ever done that. But of the ones I saw, I though Caleb was great, and so was Sam. Sam needs to stay away from the hat/button shirt to the top thing. Who is dressing these contestants? And MK dressing like Little Lord Fauntleroy? She looked and acted like a little boy, scared and uncertain. I understand she doesn’t want to wear dresses, but come on, we want to see a strong woman there, not a little boy!

I really like Emily’s voice, but sucking up to J Lo by singing her song and working the Hispanic angle…while not sounding too great, is not working for me. The other ones were just kind of boring and off key, for the most part. Then again, I didn’t hear several at the end because I was snoozing…look forward to seeing Majesty on DVR.

Also another hater as far as showing the voting results. What is wrong with these people?

Okay, let’s see Malaya as the last in the final three and send all three of them home!

I thought Phil Phil’s new single “Raging Fire” was awesome! Loved the diverse band. Also liked the Irish group Kodaline. Their lead singer has a great falcetto.

I liked Raging Fire, I’m a fan of Phillips-have been since I first heard him sing. BUT…did anyone watch his face during the song and the comments afterwards? Eye rolling and strange actions… I swear he was on something or very nervous. I dont remember that during his time on American Idol.

I just think he has become more animated. It was probably a big deal for him coming back to that stage again and he was hyped. LOVED the song and the performance. I had already bought it on iTunes!

An all girl bottom three again. Emily just wasn’t memorable. She should have maybe waited a year or two. I like MK and am hoping she can pull it together and really put out a good performance next week - otherwise, her days are numbered.

What is all the questionning of Harry and his judging?! I feel like they are giving Harry a hard time. Do they not want him to take the job seriously? Clearly he still puts fun in it, but when it comes to the contestants while you don’t have to agree with him, why are we questioning his expecting a lot out of them? And Randy sitting on the couch with Ryan and the contestants - like he is some “can’t touch me” expert…rolling my eyes…

Phil looked like he was channeling John Mayer, and that’s not a positive, in my opinion. He has his own charm and style and I hope that his comments about “John” and “Bruce” and the weird facial contortions aren’t the path he’s taking.

I don’t get the questioning, and booing, of Harry’s comments. He’s the most realistic and honest one there. This is not a great group of singers.

Phil had his own facial quirks when he was originally on AI - that’s nothing new. Maybe more pronounced last night, but not new. Just like the leg shake - he did that on AI and he did it last night. I loved seeing that shaky leg again!

Wow, I thought the Irish group was awful. I actually muted the TV for a while. I thought they were rough on Harry, but any excuse to bring in Drew Brees works for me :-).

People always booed Simon, but in reality, many viewers loved him.

^^^ Me included!

As Harry mentioned, he wasn’t hired as a mentor, he was hired as a judge. A mentor gives more advice (which he doesn give some) a judge evaluates the performance at hand.

It was awkward when Jlo yelled out “IT WAS NOT UNANIMOUS!” to Emily before Harry had said they weren’t using the save. Settle down JLo!!! :)
