<p>Does anyone know anything about this major? Other than the fact that it is a specialized English major?</p>
<p>I chose ALC for two reasons: </p>
<ol>
<li>My primary interest is American literature (and culture, fittingly)</li>
<li>It is not as impacted as English (very much so…)</li>
</ol>
<p>Considering the A’s I got in the three English courses I took the last quarter, I believe I am as capable as a general English major. However, I feel like no one knows what ALC is and that people tend to look down on it 
</p>
<p>If anyone has any information regarding how the major looks (i.e., for jobs) or anything at all, that would be great. </p>
