Hey guys! I got accepted. Second time applying. Just got my financial aid and it was honestly pathetic, 10K in grants total. I’m going in for an appeal but if anyone has any other advice regarding dealing with the financial aid office at AU please let me know.
I was accepted today to CAS as a history major! I haven’t received financial aid yet. I really hope they pull through with financial aid. AU is amazing but sooo expensive.

Are we supposed to create an account? Or should the school have emailed a pin or set-up link?
The portal is under maintenance right now. You should have received an email to create your account. If you didn’t i recommend you to contact the admission office
@kingkenaz If you have been on a tour or visited for preview day you should already have a portal. Otherwise, you should’ve been emailed instructions for set up.
Did anyone who appealed have any luck?
I emailed my financial aid Counciler asking him how to proceed with an appeal as different schools have different policies. He replied basically denying me any information on how to even apply for an appeal.
“Thank you for your email. We have made every effort to award the very best funding based on our financial aid resources. The Financial Aid Office has reviewed your request for additional financial assistance. While our office is committed to helping as many students as possible finance their education, we are not able to help all those who ask. At this time, regretfully, our office is unable to grant your request for additional funding.”
That’s ridiculous. I hope you all that aren’t getting enough aid have better options than American. I haven’t received my financial aid package, but I expect it to be subpar.
I was accepted yesterday for CLEG! I received it on my portal, but every time I try to log into my MyAu account, it can’t verify my information. Has anyone had the same issue? They want me to make my decision by May 29th but that’s pretty hard when I can’t even see my financial aid stuff yet lol. I opened a help desk ticket so we’ll see, if anyone else has had this problem please let me know how you fixed it!!
