@bamba2208 The same thing happened to me. I had to email my admissions counselor.
@kingkenaz thank you! i’ll contact mine then!
I received my financial award today and it was honestly pathetic. I hope y’all get good financial offers because mine was a joke.
My financial aid was also not the best, I received 75% of tuition covered from George Washington and only 25% from American, but I would rather go to American. I’m hoping if I can get on the phone with someone I could explain and sort of use GW’s offer as leverage? We’ll see

I can’t find where the reply date is, anyone know where I can find it?
@kingkenaz On the package I received from the school states that deposits for fall transfer must be sent by July 1st.
@alex234 Thank you!
I responded earlier in the thread but couldn’t get back into my account lol! I wanted to introduce myself:
I was accepted in April as a psychology major. I’m taking summer courses at my community college, so I should be transferring in with 40 credits. When I was admitted I had a GPA of 3.143 (currently have a 3.4). It’s low, but my first semester I left a four-year university majoring in music to go to community college, then failed my online courses. Since then I’ve only made straight As, so I believe that was a large factor in my admissions decision. Wanted to include that for anyone looking to transfer to AU but feel like their GPA isn’t that hot. I also currently work at Target, was part of my campus psychology club, and do a lot at my church (social media team in the past, welcome team, ran a small group).
I was only offered a $10k grant for aid, with $5k in federal loans, which I noticed many people also only got that amount for grants/scholarships? Not a huge fan of the select merit scholarships they have for transfer students, but I really wanted to go here so I applied anyway.
In terms of appealing, I feel like it won’t hurt to fill out an appeal, but with the letters the university president has been posting, it seems like AU is going to be short on money due to COVID-19. This will likely impact how much we’re getting offered (which sucks since we weren’t offered much in the first place).
Just wanted to share some thoughts! Hopefully I’ll be seeing you guys in the fall! I’m not paying my deposit just yet because I want to hear if we’ll be remote or on campus, and also trying to sort out finances between the universities I was accepted into.
For everyone who got accepted? Do you know the exact amount of days or weeks that you got your decision from the time that your application was received?
@ablessinggg It was exactly 25 days for me
@ablessinggg around 1 month for me but they had trouble to evaluate my high school transcripts since i was studying abroad. It took 2-3 weeks for most of the people, just check the previous post. Good luck!
@ablessinggg Took about two weeks since I just had to send electronic college transcripts
Thank you so much for your responses guys!
@mellifluousm Hey! This gives me a sense of comfort due to the fact that our situations are so similar! I was a music major at my last school, and I applied to AU for Psych. My gpa is currently a 3.2, (which is low) but I think i’m well rounded in the other facets of my application. Thanks for posting this, because it gives me a lot of hope as I haven’t heard back, and I’ve been freaking out during the wait lol. Congrats on your acceptance though!
Applied 2nd week of April. Everything has been received but have not gotten a decision yet.
Has anyone heard back? I called them two days ago and they said that they were still reviewing my application. I got into GWU and Howard, but I really want to know if I’ve gotten in before I make my decision on where I’ll go.
Has anyone gotten info on the CSS Profile? I’m assuming the email I got today about my scholarship grant amount increasing was the other funding they said we could possibly get from the CSS Profile, but wanted to ask just to be sure.
^^ received this email too, not sure what it means
Declining my acceptance, hopefully opening up space for someone who wants it. Good luck to everyone.
