@countingdown- Scherzer showed some class with it, he blamed a bad pitch, said sometimes it just happens.
As far as my ‘favorite’ team, the NY Mets, the Wilpons and Sandy Alderson are going to be happy, because they are going to blame the Mets slide on ‘injuries to key players’ for how badly they are playing. Wright being out is a big hole at third base, but Murphy is not a great fielder, and Flores booting balls and such is not because he is a young player up from the minors. Not to mention the fact that Cudyer and Granderson both suck at the plate (sorry, you don’t pay that kind of money for a .240 hitter and a .260 hitter), duda isn’t hitting well, and D’Arneau getting hurt continuously his is MO. So now they can blame injuries, as if even if they had the missing players they had a world championship team. If you won a world series by giving excuses, the Mets would be potential contenders if not winners, when the reality is they have great pitching and a crappy team.
Eight straight for the Jays. Swept the Yankees this weekend and are now only 1 1/2 games behind. Fans jumping on the bandwagon and ticket sales are crazy here in Toronto.
My Cubbies 4 game swept the Giants, winning 2-0 today. The Cubs have the 4th best record in all of baseball. It is their bad luck that two of the teams with better records are in their division!
This is what it’s come to . . . I just told DH about the no-hitter and he said, “and they won?” Leave it to the Mariners to find a way to lose a no-hitter, but yes they did win the game.
I’m excited about the Mets’ run for the title. I was in Las Vegas in March and intended to place a small bet on the Mets to win the WS, but I forgot to do so. Mainly because I have never bet on sports in my life and don’t even know how to do it, but the thought did cross my mind. I will kick myself if they win it! haha
Don’t worry musicmom. The Mets’ road record is so bad that they’re not likely to win the WS, but it is fun to be in 1st place at this point of the season. (Disclaimer: I’m a Mets fan and we always expect the other shoe to drop)
