<p>How would you describe it? And how are the people, generally? For instance, I live in D.C., and I know that most people tend to find it cold and unfriendly (because it is in many respects, awesome though it is :). I’m looking to go where there is a strong sense of community. What do you guys think?</p>
<p>i think amherst and many of its other lac partners excell in this category. because it’s relatively small and relatively isolated (though keep in mind the thousands of students in the consortium), there is a great sense of community. coupled with a lack of grad students, professors which are teachers above researchers, and a high per capita allocation of resources, it should be a good fit (though I think that perhaps the consortium may dilute the school spirit, but don’t quote me on that)</p>
