extracurriculars: model un president for two years with five awards (one from Harvard! this is a big deal for mun), debate captain, internship on a statewide campaign, concert choir/a capella, rector for a large retreat at my school, political columnist for my school newspaper, volunteering at a home for low-income seniors, peer tutor, founder/president of my school’s jsa chapter, other less important commitments, secretary of a statewide political organization (nj)
awards: first place amc 10 and amc 12, gold medalist on the national spanish exam twice, various model un awards, scholarship finalist for my school, brandeis book award, multiple honor societies, guest speaker at a teen leadership camp
common app essay: about how my personal experiences changed my view of politics/religion. it’s definitely good but not the best thing i’ve written

Waitlisted. Sorta bummed, really thought I could get in…
Congrats to those who got in! If you were waitlisted there is still hope! I am a current international student who was waitlisted but later got in.
I got waitlisted, here are my stats/extracurriculars
GPA: my school did GPAs out of 100 not 4.0 and my average was a 97.8
SAT: 1390 (definitely low considering Amherst’s standard)
Extracurriculars: Captain of my Girls Varsity Swim Team
President of Smiles for Miles Club (volunteering club)
Participated in Service In Schools Leadership Institute (department of education opportunity)
Worked at Parents In Action (a human rights organization)
Multiple Awards from PSAL for being a competitive swimmer
Essays: my common app essay seemed really good but my supplement could’ve been better.

HI, My daughter got in but we can’t figure out where the award is, where do you see it?
Any international student got in in the RD? I just got wait-listed twice (Amherst and Kenyon) and I think that many international students get wait-listed because of the corona virus crisis. Am I right ?
sonataB, I still can’t see it either. The menu sort of flashes for a second when I click it, with the award option, but then it changes to a smaller menu with no info.
I doubt colleges would turn admits into waitlists because of the virus.
I got in as an international for RD with need.

My daughter was accepted but we can’t see any the “what will I owe” option on menu bar?
Does that mean she didn’t get any financial aid? (Fingers crossed she got at least something).
I think the general consensus is that fin.aid is not displaying to everyone ;(
