An A student in CP Classes but who Gradually moved up?

Between freshman and sophomore year I was in all CP classes except for 1 advanced and 1 honors class in sophomore year. I ended both years with a 3.7. Now I’m in all honors/advanced classes except for 1 (which I have an A+ in). I have about a 3.8 GPA unweighted.

Next year I am taking 3 ap classes, two honors, and one advanced class. I’m going to work so hard to get all As.

I’m just wondering if I should even look at colleges that have like 30-40% acceptance rates. I liked Holy Cross and Brandeis but I know they’re impossibly hard to get into. I was just wondering if you think I should even bother applying. I’ve always received good grades. Do you think it’ll be good for colleges to see that I’ve increasingly challenged myself every year by taking more and more harder classes. I know these colleges are very concerned with class rigor, but do they really care about freshman and sophomore year that much?

Be honest please. I’m big enough to handle it. What colleges in the New England area would you suggest for an A- student who does take her education seriously?

I think you are well on track for colleges like Holy Cross, Brandeis, Tufts, Boston College. Keep improving and do well on the SAT and you will be in great shape.

It’s iffy. Two years of not taking a rigorous course load will turn off many colleges. High scores and great ECs will help. That said, have solid safety and match schools (ones where you can get in AND afford) and try a couple of reaches.

What range would you suggest I shoot for sats and acts?
