I want to take the ACT before everyone to preserve knowledge and preparation over a long time. However, there are state-mandated ones too. Problems are:

1)…that I eventually would take it twice, and that might damage my reputation in scores, and

2)…that I would have a higher score at the first one but then have a lower score at the second one.

What are your thoughts? Should I take it twice or just scrap my plan for an early ACT?

Take it… Just do not send the scores to any colleges. Some of the administration dates will allow you to purchase the test (April and June at least and maybe one other…), which will allow you to go over the problems you get wrong. One of the advantages of the ACT is that you do not have to send all of your scores to a given college - unless of course, it is a requirement of the college but I believe that is highly unusual compared to SAT scores.(For SAT’s, some schools say send only your best, some say send all, but we will only look at your best, etc). For ACT, you only send them the ACT scores that you want to send and very few schools require that a student send all of their ACT attempts.

You haven’t even taken it once yet. Or even bought a review book.

You need to read the other threads on this forum before starting new ones.

Many of the questions you are asking have already been answered.
Knock it off. It is really annoying.

Sorry. Just weighing the consequences. I’m almost done with The Red Book and ordered nine books from the library, along with readings of thousands of posts on CC. My question is unique.
