Hello everyone!
As I am a student who has been researching universities over the last year or so, my curiosity in the various rankings of them has gotten the better of me. Therefore, I decided to find every university ranking I could and averaged them all out by weighting certain rankings more than others. I normally adjusted the ranking weights on what I thought were the most influential, but also the most detailed in their methodology.
Here are the weights:
QS World ranking: x8
Times world ranking: x8
US News world ranking: x8
ARWU World ranking: x8
CWUR World ranking: x6
Times Reputation ranking: x4
QS Employment ranking: x2
Times Employment ranking: x2
Round Ranking: x2
Round reputation ranking: x1
Webometrics: x1
Urap: x1
SCImago: x1 (if you go to this websites, I filtered it to just higher education)
4icu: x1
Versus.com best universities: x1
thetoptens.com best universities: x1
Reuters innovation ranking: x1
NTU: x1 (I averaged out the ranking seen and the one adjusted for size)
Leiden: x1 (I averaged out all 7 variations of research ranking seen)
I then divided whatever number I got by 58 (as that is what all the weights add up to).
As I am not perfect, I may have missed some, especially after the top 40 (and almost certainly a couple after the top 50).
And also, I did have to do a couple of estimations as some of the rankings only displayed a top 100 and some of the below universities did not make it. Make of this what you will.
Anyways, here’s what I got:
