An E-Mail to JHU's Pre-College

I’ve recently been admitted to JHU’s Pre-College program for the coming summer. I know there’s a seperate section for this, but this section, loosely related, is much more active; I need a quick response.

The details are in the e-mail. Is it professional enough?

Dear [person who sent my acceptance],

Thank you so much for the quick acceptance to the JHU Summer Pre-College program, but unfortunately there seems to be a problem. When my application was sent in, all the appropriate material, including all the financial aid forms, were sent in. I understand that the financial aid was well past it’s due, but via e-mail a [name of another person] informed me that I could be considered for financial aid if I could get everything together and have it at Johns Hopkins by the end of February. When I sent out the application, the post office garunteed that everything would get there by the 28th of February.

Here are the contents of the e-mail response from [name of another person]:

"Hello [me],

You may go ahead and send in your financial aid application if you are able to get it together right away. We must receive it no later than the end of this month.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thank you,

Subject: JHU Pre-College FInancial Aid Deadline

Dear sir or ma’am,

Last year when we looked into the JHU Pre-college program, the financial aid dedline was in March, but this year that’s not the case. We’ve missed the deadline, and we need the financial support in order to attend the JHU Pre-college program. Is there a particular reason for this? Is there any possible way that the financial aid deadline could be extended? Thank you for your time.

Sincerely, [me]"

Was I not eligible for financial aid? I am very much looking foward to a summer at Johns Hopkins University, but without any financial support, it would be very difficult for me to attend. Please respond as soon as possible. Thank you.

Sincerely,

[me]

It looks professional enough (well there are a few grammar and misspellings) but you missed the deadline and then took another week to get the forms in? (I would have overnighted them the 21st.)
Maybe you were eligible but just did not get any aid.

I would’ve done the same, but I couldn’t get my recs (from teacher/guidance counselor) until the following week because we were on our winter break.

If we’re not eligible, they don’t tell us? I honeslty don’t think that’s the case - my family NEEDS fin aid.
