Very interesting. I too wonder where they will wind up. I am glad they seem to be relatively safe, and I suspect with this amount of publicity, if anything starts to go seriously wrong, help would step in.
And they are baaaack! 
After 18 months of quarantine and travel restrictions are us humans really wondering why an intelligent and family oriented species would want a change of scenery?

We just watched a NatGeo Wild episode that had a short segment on elephants in this region, just slightly west and north of where this herd usually resides. It spoke of drought and a nearly yearly, long pilgrimage of a herd of elephants that travel north for food.
