Ok. So, this Indian family came over last night to have dinner with our family, and my mom made a whole bunch of Indian/Pakistani food (I’m a bit of both nationality) and as we were eating, the guy is like “wow, this is great curry chicken”. And I’m like, “***, Dyslexia?” Actually, it was more like “haha, isn’t it “Chicken Curry”, not “Curry Chicken”?” And he said no, that was wrong - Curry described the chicken preparation, and that it wasn’t actually a type of dish in itself. Now I’m thinking this guy is full of it, but is there any actual evidence as to which way it’s said?

I think it can go either way, if you type either of them into google –> both come up…

L0L seems like a weird issue/argument :p

hey! you aren’t even Indian :p

r0fl.

I may not be, but I don’t need to be in order to spot a semantics issue

um, I typically refer to it as curried chicken, curried goat, etc., and a lot of people do. You haev too much time on your hands.

i always call it chicken curry not curry chicken

I always call it chicken curry, but I wouldn’t care if someone called it otherwise l0l ;)

curry chicken just sounds weird…

l0llll I guess I am just used to it because I’ve heard so many people say it both ways ;)

this is actually one of the very few times that I have heard it being pronounced that way…

hmmmm…

Well let me be the first to say there is a large diversity of people here. Some who have probably not seen chicken curry before in their lives until now ;)

who cares?

I don’t even know what it is…

Curry chicken is the way we say it in our house. I’ve never heard chicken curry before. And no, I’m not Indian, but I do have a lot of experience w/ Indian food.

I think the OP already got his/her answer a looooooooonnnnnnggggg time ago…

^^ Me0w. I know. I read the thread. I just thought it maybe needed a little sunshine.

I think you did wonderfully :)

I’ve always called it chicken curry, and all the labels at local supermarkets say “chicken curry”.
I’m not indian but alot of my neighbors growing up were indian and pakistani and they all called it chicken curry.

who cares anyway? Does it really matter that much?
